De foto’s evoceren een wereld bevolkt door kleine fantasten, visionaire grootvaders en machtsgeile maagden. Visserslatijn is er de voertaal. Banaliteit en absurditeit strijden om het hoogste woord. Verhalen vertellen is belangrijk voor Studio Edelweiss. Ideeën worden meestal gevonden buiten de klassieke onderwerpen van de fotografie. De gebroeders Grimm, Caravaggio, Georges Brassens, de bijbel en de antieke mythologie, Frank Zappa en vuile boekskes vormen wel vaker de voedingsbodem voor inspiratie maar uiteindelijk en voorbij de humor aan de oppervlakte gaat het werk over liefde en tijd en de vaak absurde manieren om beide eventjes te overleven.
